My friend has a 1963 Plymouth Fury - Max Wedge with exhaust manifolds. Earlier this week, he replaced the white clip that retains the engine compartment wire harness. This clip is the closest point to the exhaust manifold. Yesterday, he had to replace the new clip because it melted. He just purchased (10) of the white clips from Bill & Rose Evans this week. Anyone else experience this melting issue?

Got a IR temp heat gun? How hot is it as soon as he opens the hood after a long drive? I bet the motor is lean which makes them run hot, my guess.
If it's that clip in the picture, then yes that motor is lean!! because the clip is pretty far away IMO.

max wedge car did not use plastic they had metal clips
Makes you think they might of had a reason for that.
Absolutely... reproductions available from Crossram Connection... 3 for the driver side and 2 for the passanger side.
And a 2 additional metal clips on the firewall{brake line and wiring harness}...
