I'm going to the dyno tomorrow to get the new bracket motor mounted up and ran for a short time to make sure it is ready to flog on Thursday morning It is a 440 block bored to 4.350, 4.300 stroke , 505 C.I. 440-1 ported heads with Indy 1.5 rockers, solid roller cam with 270 ish duration at .050 with .675 net lift at the retainers, 12.60 to 1 compression, 440-2 intake adapted to a 1050 Dominator, big dyno headers and so on. Nothing exotic I'm hoping for 750 + HP and 700 Ft lbs + on the torque on race gas, I will try my E85 Dominator carb and the local E85 mix to see what that will do Post away, if you so desire, no prizes for the most accurate guess

Do you have a flow sheet Cab? Just curious but I would hope it would meet your goal.

I think your estimate is spot on. That is what I would have guessed. Any particular reason for the short duration/moderate lift cam? (longevity?)

I say 720hp 670tq.unless it is on that happy dyno again. very similar to my 500" builds. Good luck with the indy rockers. I have broke more of them than I can count.......
these were used on a motor just like yours.....

they were not designed for high spring pressure, at least they don't act like it. i have broken more than a few myself before switching

I used to run a Crane roller cam the same size in my 451.

I'll guess 758hp @6100 and 689tq @ 4850.

I'm waiting on the dyno shop to e mail me copies of what it did, his shop printer cartridge was dried up It didn't do as well as I had hoped, I will call him and ask if his MSD had a RPM chip in it as this motor was done at 6500 RPM The last stroker motor I built with similar parts like this one made peak HP at 7200 RPM I saw a little over 700 HP on the gauges(around 680 on the torque) but this dyno doesn't always print what you see One of the other dyno shops I use to use in SO CA had a Super Flow dyno that would do the same thing so they sold it and bought a DTS, it never did that The sampling rate, 10 times a second versus 100 times a second, was the differences according to them The customer was there and he likes it so that is what realy counts I'll post the actual results once I get them

all of my 500" motors are done around 6500. I use solid rollers in all of them. 13.1 compression. 272/276@.050 .650"........

here is a dyno sheet showing it peaking around 6500

I have been telling you for 10 years, you dont need to spin them to 7500. I shifted mine at 6700, usually even less. I'm sure it will run good

I had mine rebuilt as a pump gas engine...had the "BIG" roller re-cut with a total of .689/.692 and .264/.268 @ .050 durations...10-1 compression, 499"..686 hp @ 7200 with more in it...torque was a tick under 700...this was in a rich condition and with 93 octane....
and 36* locked out, 1050 HP Dominator a bit rich..black

so what Im saying, perhaps more tune...???

Hi Cab,

Where did you dyno this one? I'm interested to hear all of the details.

Glad it ran good!

ps Black car is in the shop getting prepped!

No more updates, there was a fuel delivery problem with the dyno fuel system so no real good results Maybe next time The customer was in a hurry and took the motor home He was content with those results I had higher hopes due to the parts and compression that motors has You can only make as much power as the motor will suck in fuel and air, to much air with not enough fuel can kill the motor I am going to do a complete leak down on the motor before it goes back into the car, if it is hurt I will bring it back to my shop and take care of it
