If an AAR or TA are optioned for power steering the only box they got was a fast ratio box marked TA.
Some 71 ebodies were equipped with the same TA box.

The T/A box just had the stops moved.
What's special about the case that it needed to have the T/A cast into it? Are the stops cast into the case?

does that mean that adding the fast ratio pitman arm will essentially give the standard box fast ratio?
Yep.

No.
The factory fast ratio arm will not fit on a standard box. Sector shaft diameter, and splines are different. You will need to go aftermarket to Firm Feel or Hotchkis (there are others) for a longer arm for the standard, small sector shaft box.

I meant from what is available today aftermarket. You can add FF or PST long pitman in large or small spline diameter without master splines to make your steering quick ratio. That is what the original poster has done.
But yes originally the clocking was different on the master splines.
But I thought the T/A boxes were still small 1972 and down B/E/A body diameter???
Are the T/A boxes the larger 60's and up C-body diameter that the B/E/A bodies switched to in 1973?

What I was trying to say is the "TA" box has the quick ratio option. T/As with the standard power steering option got a regular power steering box (without the raised "TA")
So to clarify more, there were three different steering possibilities on a 70 T/A and 70 AAR ?

Yes. Steering gear shaft in T/A box is same large diameter as full size Dodge and Chrysler, but it is a different shaft unique to T/A box. The T/A steering box is not just a standard steering chuck with stops put in, it is heavier duty.
