Recently busted the pinion gear in my Dana 60, never used pro gears in several years of racing, but I don't want another failure. Pros and cons? How long will pro gears last? Had 4.56 but had been planning to switch to 4.10's. 1.32 60' @ 3,200 lbs. Thanks for all input.
Are you running too many rpms at the traps to cause you to go with the 4.10s... I myself have never run a pro gear.. mainly due to it wasnt in my ratio.. so I cant help there

Pro gears are softer, they don't break like a hard street gear, they are jut enough softer to cushion the shook at the hit making them better in a race-Car with slicks. But Pro gears being soft are not as good for the street because they will wear faster. PS I know no one wants to hear this but that is one of the advantages of running a 9" ford rear end you can get just about any gear ratio you want.
