cdp OP master C Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 3,691 MO	A buddy fully customized his 70 Charger RT and I'm buying the full front and rear suspension out of the car. My plan is to rebuild the suspension, detail it and slide a 440/auto onto the K-frame and slide the whole thing into a 30k mile slant-6/auto 66 coronet 4door. My question is on the rear. Will the Hemi springs and 8-3/4 rear from the 70 charger fit into the coronet OK? I was thinking the rear is a little narrower on the 66 and may cause me some wheel well clearance. I do plan on running G-Series redlines I have sitting around. Thanks Chris

Kern Dog Striving for excellence Joined: Feb 2010 Posts: 18,493 Granite Bay CA	The 70 K member is differnt but if you use the 70 lower control arms and sway bar, it all bolts up. Regarding the rear axle, yes it is a bit wider. I believe the difference is 3/4" total. If you intend to run stock 6" wide rims you'll be fine.

cdp OP master C Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 3,691 MO	thanks. Yes, I have the whole K member assembly, sway bar, and upper, lower A-arms, spindles, disc brakes, etc. Same with the rear. springs and rear, drum to drum.

I'd guess they are the same, but I could be wrong.

The housing and axle shafts are the same as they used for the higher HP cars.

Car is only a few blocks away, and I've yet to buy it. Estate is still not quite settled, but I have my foot in the door on it first. I'm hoping the rear is already in it. My gears are 323 open, but 489 case.
