Ordered a light weight master cylinder from eberg about 5 years ago and it went bad over the winter. Looking to replace it. Already have the 4 to 2 mounting adapter. Searched the archives here where it said I needed a mc for a 89 Dodge Dakota. Went to the local Autozone to grab one but it did not have the recessed part in the back that retains the brake pushrod, nor did it come with the new rubber piece that goes on the rod itself.

Help, need this ready this weekend. I guess I could get a stock one for it if it came down to it but I'd rather not.

Take a look at one from a K car. If I remember correctly that might work.

I think the one you want is the 77-78 Volare. If you can't find one, come and get mine.

Looks like this one.

I will guarantee he gets the Summit one before the
others... but if he is close enough he can pick it up..
if he orders it early enough in the morning(6-7 am)
he will have it that day... at least I do and he is
a lot closer

Just got off the phone with smythe automotive. They say theirs has a machined step in it for the retainer. 89 Dakota 15/16 bore. Just need to find a new rubber piece. Thanks for the replies.

Mancini's carry that little rubber piece. I know of no other place. Surprising because its junk once you pull the pushrod out!
But some guys on here have used thin rubber or vinyl hose. All it does is stop the pushrod from wobbling around in the cup.

If thats the piece I think it is.. it looks like it..
but that is to keep the push rod in the master.. it
can be a real PITA to get it out... it snaps in place
with the push rod... was for safety so the rod couldnt
slip out

Ended up with a mc for a 85 Dodge diplomat, seemed like the same bore as a stock demon. Thanks prochamp for running all the numbers and rbduster for the actual sale. Mc didn't come with the retaining bushing so it was made with a piece of vacuum line. Feels good and solid. Thanks for the ideas fellas.
