Anyone running this oil pan?

Milodon 31151

I picked up a used one but I'm wondering if I should use the 9qt version rather than this 7qt version?

I called Milodon and asked them and they thought it would be fine because of how the oil was controlled with this pan compared with the center sump pans. They also told me that I could cap off one of the swinging pick ups and just run a singe line oil pick up with a Melling HV oil pump as long as I kept the RPMs 7,300 or less.

So that is my current plan but wanted to ask others about their experiences.

I just had one built exactly the same way except with the center link hole.
I would run dual lines though. 1 -12AN line would not be enough IMHO.
A single -20 AN line would be suffice.

Will the pumps covers support a -20 line? (So just swap out the fitting on the pump? I could use a Y fitting from the pan to combine the two -12 lines into a -20 line)

The cover won't take a -20. What is that ... like a rad hose ?!?!?

How do you put a link hole in a low profile pan like that ?!?!?

I think Milodon probably have a pretty good idea of what they're talking about !

Been using the 7qt pan for a long time and it works great and gives a ton of ground clearance. You will need to run the full 7qrts though, mine would lose oil pressure on the brakes with less than 7.

I don't run that short of a pan, but I do run a dual line swinging pick up with one port hole blocked at the pick up. A single -12 line to a Melling HV oil pump with a Milodon pump cover going to a remote oil filter base. Routinely see 7000 rpm's with no oiling problems at all. The pan is a Milodon SS pan. Couple that with a Wix filter and all the lines, its a 10 qt system. I also added a Peterson scavenge filter at the oil pan. The only draw back to this system is ground clearance (or rather the lack of).
