About where it is now. Car handles well and I don't want that to change. 60s are not as consistent as I would like. It was real consistent but I put a different set of ss springs on it following a friends advice and now it seems to have lost the consistency.

I have 2 front spring eye holes so I can lower the rear.IMHO go for the inch lower than stock.

If you lower the back some it should help your 60'
and be more consistent(easier to get the front weight
to transfer to the rear)... by rights it should only
change the caster a SMALL amount(for the better)..
it will add a small amount of caster but very little
with the angle change

Caltracs offer split mono's up to 2 inch over stock ride height. Looking at your car you would need at least +1 inch to sit like it is sitting now.
I originally went with +2 inch on my ebody and it sat higher than I liked so I went back to +1 inch and now it looks and works perfect.

Why not look into a decent ladder bar set up with coil overs now Skip the intermediate steps to traction and go straight to the better set up now The only way I would run CalTracs now is if the car I raced had rules that made them the only other option than SS springs

cab: it's all a $s thing. i'm 62 and have had a couple of back surgerys and i'm a 1 man band at the track so it just keeps getting harder to do. this has been a great car for me (3 championships over 12 yrs) but valiants aren't the most popular car out there so i won't recoup many of the $s i throw at it. if i go bars i would want to go away from the 8 3/4 thats under it now so it becomes a spiraling $ vacume. i ran epso ss springs for yrs with very good consistency but moved those springs to my ss clone car, and replaced them with a mopar set and the consistency just isn't there now. i already have the rancho shocks so cal tracs seem to be a logical move to me. this is a low 11/ high 10 1/4 mile car and i'm ok with that. i never really got caught up in the being the fastest car at the track deal, if figure you need a top fuel car to do that lol

I use to live close to where the Cal trac set up was developed in SO CA, I ran a NHRA stocker when John Calvert was racing in stock and him and the Dreyer famiy where developing that system. If cost was the only issue the ladder bars used with a floater or slider setup on leaf springs is almost the same $ as the Caltracs with thier springs and shocks I know of some racers, bracket racers as well as NHRA Stock racers and some heads up no breakout racers in PSCA that really had to fight and work hard to get the results they wanted from CalTracs, some didn't get them to work, hence the two piece leaf springs and so on I don't know of any racers that put in a ladder bar set up close to proper on the installation that didn't work good to start with There are several racers on here who have used both, none of them siad that thier Caltracs where better than the ladder bars they replaced them with later I have driven many different leaf spring cars, stocker and bracket cars, same thing on ladder bar cars, the ladder bar cars are easier to drive and much more consistent I have not owned, driven or use the Caltracs so I don't have any expereinces with them other than what friends of mine who have used them have done and said Us old timers need to help others when we can IHTHs

You will be very happy with Caltracs. I wasted years trying to get MT ET Street Radials to hook with SS springs. I finally bought Caltracs this spring.
The 60 fts were instantly consistant unless I hooked the car to hard then it would unload the tire. I finally listened to the people that said you need a double adjustable rear shock to hook drag radials. I put them on in time for the last race of the year. The car ran quicker and faster. I have a very nose heavy heavy car with a small tire drag radial street tire and the Caltracs worked. Your car should be a lot easier to set up than mine. For the money I don't think you can do any better than Caltracs.

I`d call em for sure and talk to em about your needs but agree on a double adj. shock in the rear especially if you`re running in the 9`s cos the old 5-way Ranchos don`t work for me anymore. I use lowering blocks and asside from what some may say, even Calvert and others goin real fast use em. While you`re at it ask em about the 25" ft. segment deal.............

Caltrac's here Shock adjustability seems to be the answer for the front & rear. The choices and prices have a huge spread

Dave you will love the Caltracs. Your car runs about what my brothers Cuda does and his 60 fts are crazy consistent even at Mag. I would sug that you call Caltrac and talk to them about your set up. I did that for the Belvedere I'm building and they were very helpful.

Ok

On my car the first day I ran the Caltracs I noticed two three things. The sixty foot times were consistant to within thousanths unless I made an adjustment Everytime I made an adjustment the car went faster.
My reaction times were a lot quicker and for the first time they were consistant.
I wasted a lot of time messing with SS springs and there are guys that say they work for them but for me there was no comparison between SS springs and Caltracs.
