I use a CAT battery and have it in the trunk for the counter balance effect. Braille makes super light weight batteries IIRC. Batteries are not somewhere I would skimp on as far as output and reliability go. My car has a stereo too lol.

I've seen $150 Lithium's that weight 2 lbs that I'm told will do fine in a car with 210 CCA Can CCA in a Lithium battery be treated different than a old wet battery?? They do have 540 CCA lithiums for $308, but those are 4.96 lbs FATTY's.

I'd be fine fine I think with 540 CCA fatty at $308, is the chance of fire with lithium real or very remote?
Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.

These are Lithium Motorcycle and ATV batteries. Same applications people were getting the dry cells from.
It seems these batteries are sold under various resellers "labels". I don't know the true manufacturer.

LFX36L3-BS12, $270, 5.5 pounds, 7.7 x 5.7 x 8 inches, 18AH, read review that it's listed at 520 CCA, other review tested it at 1000 CCA on load tester: http://www.amazon.com/Shorai-LFX36L3-BS1...f=pd_sbs_auto_6
At the LA Roadster show a battery shop was selling these for car at around $200. He said they did fine for cars with no accessories.

I already have a 13 1/2 pound Genesis that I paid $66 for a few years back that will crank a 17:1 big block with no problems. I'm really interested in seeing if the even smaller and lighter batteries will get the job done. Thanks for the links.
July 19th should be "Drive Like Rockford Day". R.I.P. Jimmie.

These lithium batteries are incredible and prices are dropping. Now check this out...I saw this at a customer that has a AAA tow company with a battery service truck. This will jump 2-3 cars on a single charge. It will fit in you coat pocket. Has 12v, USB and bunch of adapters too. . . . Check this out, costs around $150 they said. http://shop.antigravitybatteries.com/micro-start-xp-1/

... Almost makes one rethink the need to relocate battery rearward/trunk with the hassle and additional length/weight of cable needed.
I want to put mine under here.
But they are getting small enough maybe I should put it in place of the heater box when I take it out.

Read post #80 on this LX forums thread. Interesting info about using Deka batteries as cheap alternatives to Braille. I just googled the ETX30L and they are available under $100. http://www.lxforums.com/board/f63/weight-reduction-factoids-256293/
Yea, the Braille's are very expensive. The just look new stickers on the cases that Deka and Phantom use/are.
These seem to be all repackaged restickered deals.

I used like 4-5 of those type battery's back around 1993-4 in a dragster with a 16-1 572" motor. It turned over the motor fine but could not stand the vibration in a solid rear axle mounted dragster. One good tire shake and a 200 dollar battery was junk. I quite using them for racing because they didn't hold up.
