Are 1968 & 1969 426 Street Hemi water pump pulleys the same? Or are they different part numbers. Thanks in advance

68 and 69 technically used a different water pump pulley ... but I think sometime in late 68 it changed .... The 66-68 water pump pulley is the same as all wedge motors and it had it's own special crank pulley to match the offset.

I'm being anal here as this is for an original car. I'm looking for an original Mopar made pulley not a reproduction. Which do you have? Thanks

The water pump and crank pullies are Hemi unique on your '69.

What makes them unique to 69 , I know the lower pulley will have an asymetric bolt pattern , was 70 the year change for that to symetric , I can't remember , otherwise what is unique about the 69 waterpump pulley ?

John - Just saying for his 69 - the Hemi water pump pulley is a unique Hemi part - smaller than the 440 pulley. I believe (later) 68 to 71 Hemi pullies are the same....and Hemi only

Gotcha , when I answered his question the other day I let out the word "unique" when saying the pulley he wants is hemi specific .

I know this doesn't answer your question, but this is an original hemi water pump pulley with part number.

Maybe someone knows which year/years it is correct for?

I believe the 716 is the correct one for late '68 to 71 Hemi's. I'll double check my stuff but fairly certain it's the one.

the 29 prefix tells me it's the late pulley

IIRC, the whole pulley change thing came about because of the change to the 6-vane A/C pump on the Hemi....this pump needs to turn faster so a smaller diameter WP pulley is used.

Pretty sure A/C wasn't available on a Hemi.

He didn't say it was , he left out the word WATER before PUMP though ...

Whoops.....I mistook "6-vane A/C pump" as some type of A/C pump. I realize now that he was referring to the 6-blade A/C style water pump.

Just to add a bit to this... the pulley pictured above is an original late 68-71 Hemi water pump pulley. It is also an over-the-counter service part since it has the part # stamped in. Originals that actually came on the cars did not have the #'s.

Must have sold a lot of over the counter pulleys..

I've stripped paint off a number of pulleys only to find barely visable part numbers.
Just my dumb luck I guess.

Were those all original 69-71 Hemi water pump pullies? as that was only what I was referring to.

Second that. The water pump pulley that came with my 69 Hemi does not have any number stamped on it for sure.
