68 - 69 Hemi Water Pump Pulleys - 08/17/13 04:08 AM
Are 1968 & 1969 426 Street Hemi water pump pulleys the same? Or are they different part numbers. Thanks in advance

69 specifically then as thats what I'm looking for is unique to a Hemi? Does not interchange with a wedge motor? 69 thru 71 the same then?? Thanks

The water pump and crank pullies are Hemi unique on your '69.

John - Just saying for his 69 - the Hemi water pump pulley is a unique Hemi part - smaller than the 440 pulley. I believe (later) 68 to 71 Hemi pullies are the same....and Hemi only

I believe the 716 is the correct one for late '68 to 71 Hemi's. I'll double check my stuff but fairly certain it's the one.

IIRC, the whole pulley change thing came about because of the change to the 6-vane A/C pump on the Hemi....this pump needs to turn faster so a smaller diameter WP pulley is used.

Pretty sure A/C wasn't available on a Hemi.

He didn't say it was , he left out the word WATER before PUMP though ...

Must have sold a lot of over the counter pulleys..
I've stripped paint off a number of pulleys only to find barely visable part numbers.
Just my dumb luck I guess.
