getting my tranny rebuilt,i have been running a b&m tranny cooler, been routing it through the radiator then the cooler, and back to the tranny, the guy rebuilding my tranny said to skip the radiator, and run to the cooler and back, has anybody been running a cooler like this also what tranny lines are you using i am replacing the hard lines and thinking about going with braided or rubber hoses,i see summitt has high pressure 1/2 in rubber lines, anybody use these???

There is much disagreement on whether or not to run the radiator cooler in series with the external cooler, a lot depends on your local weather conditions; I would run it through the radiator, specially if it gets really cold in the winter.

Running large hoses doesn't make a lot of sense since the 1/8" NPT fittings at the trans limit the flow anyhow. #6 hose is all you'll need.

I've been running my tranny lines through a cooler only. I use normal size hard lines and then convert to a hose at the cooler. No radiator.
I drive fairly easy for the first few miles or so to warm it up before I jump on it. Been that way for about a dozen years.
I have a supercharger on a stroked small block and I did not want to add any heat from the tranny to the radiator since the motor runs a little warm.
Beware if you are in a cold climate like the other member posted.

I just went through the exercise of replacing my trans coolant lines.

I tried three (3) sets. Duh. I won't name the other vendors.

The set from "InlineTube" fit PERFECTLY. Dead.Nuts.Spot.On Without any installation issues. They have a very good process replicating the originals.

HTH.

Like what JK kind of says .... the rad-cooler is also a "warmer". And that is CRITICAL on the OD and lockup vert applications ....no-so-much on a regular 727 or 904.

I made a bracket that mounts behind the grill, using the same bolts that hold the radiator in place. Plumbed it -6 An fittings and a mix of hard line and soft nylon braided.
