If a 70 AAR Cuda is red, and has red interior, is the carpet red too? and if so, is it the darker red or the brighter red? How about the seat belts, aren't they suppose to be red too? (The dash, steering column and seats are poppy red).

If you have a column shift it would be black

Interesting with the column shift. Would be hold true even with optional ralley gauges?

Why? Not an AAR but a buddy owned a FE5 340 Cuda back in the 80's, Column Auto it had red carpet.. My old Challenger vert was FE5 Column Auto & red carpet..... Why would an AAR be different?

I believe Bruce is stating that the column-shift auto's columns are black.

'Cuda with red interior - seats, door panels, kick panels, dash, carpet, console, head liner, glass trim/mouldings - are all red.

IIRC, Seat belts & column change between black & red based on other OPTIONS.

I just did a quick scan of AAR broadcast sheets I have on file so far.......

For red, tan & green interior cars with A62 & column shift, the column color matches the interior color.

Would the seat belts be black? It has black seat belts in it and with all of that red, I figured the seat belts to not be origional ...

Lets really stir the pot!

This 70 AAR Cuda appears to have factory holes for wheel trim! Is that even possible? I have heard stories of dealers doing it, back in the day... That said, there sure are a lot of "stories", and that is all they are, stories.

Was your AAR optioned with deluxe seatbelts or not? LemonTwists car show standard seat belts.

Would deluxe seatbelt option on a 70 'Cuda with red interior get you red seat belts?

As mentioned before, other options effect color of interior components. Wether the 'Cuda was optioned for A62 Rallye gauges will effect some color too.

Is it coded for rally gauge and/or deluxe seatbelts?

Std Cluster = Black Column
Rally Cluster = Red Column

Std Seat Belts are Black
Deluxe Seat Belts which includes the warning light under the dash & the storage clips on the front of the seats gets color coded belts....

Carpet is normally color coded but there are two tone interiors with black as one of the colors and some/most 68 4spd B bodies...

Yes, I know of a few so far. Check the broadcast sheet for M26 if there is one.

Okay, I do not have a broadcast sheet, however, I do have ralley gauges, red steering column with the ignition light, and red interior... So is the carpet the bright red like the interior or the slightly darker red?

I still don't know why it would have factory holes for fender lip trim. Wouldn't That would look funny? Again, no broadcast sheet
