I have pretty much the same combo in a 408. In my 3260# Dart it's ran a best of 6.57 with a Hughes 6064 flat solid on pump 93.

I'm diggin the MP 557 in my 408. Your stall is about right for it. I assume the springs will be spec'd after you decide on a cam?

You might be able to get more power with an ultradyne or something if that's what you're after. The 557 has great manners, nice idle, and the power builds smoothly- no jerk when it gets up on the cam.

Fwiw I started with a comp hft xe275hl- more power down low but bad manners, noisier than the big lash oldschool mp solid, and all finished at 5k with unported eddys, 750dp and hooker comp headers.

Good luck- I'll be watching to see what other folks have to say

Don't take it personal, there is always one in every crowd. There is still good info here.

Dude, you did ask a good and pertinent question. Just passing the spelling on for what it's worth. I didn't think it was bad form or upsetting to do so.

The cam Crower recommended should get you into the 10.20-.30 range I run a Bullet roller 264/268 .636 lift and have gone 9.95 in good air at 2815 lbs. Best of luck

If you have not seen it yet,the latest Mopar Muscle ( May) features an article I wrote testing 8 different camshafts in a stroke small block
Its not an identical build but it will give you an idea how different camshafts affected the engine and may help you make a decision. If I can help at all just ask!
