Ray Barton would just ask one the the Cam makers to make a cam to the specs he has choosen.

Since it says you live in Toronto, why not pick up the phone and call Tim Banning of FHO, for hemis only and talk to him 1-905-797-2459. He lives in Bewdley Ontario on Rice Lake just north of Port Hope Ontario so your drive to his shop is relatively short.

I agree: You'd be crazy NOT to call Tim at FHO.

Are the factory cams in the new hemi not rollers? If they are, are they hydraulic rollers? I don't know why someone would want to switch back to a flat tappet or solid roller, unless they are making a race engine.

I switched from a solid roller back to a flat tappet cam...Easier on parts.

Thanks Dustin, that is what I thought it was. I don't know why they won't make the new cams hyd. rollers then, be cheaper to reuse the lifters and not have the friction of a flat tappet?

AS FAR AS I KNOW THE RAY BARTON/MOPAR HEMIS USE ROLLER ROCKERS ONLY. IT CURRENTLY HAS A REG. HYD CAM IN NOW.TALLKED TO TIM BEFORE (FHO), HE SAYS I COULD USE A SOLID ROLLER FOR STREET, WOULD LIVE AS LONG AS SPRING PRESSURE KEPT IN CHECK.
HEARD A LOT OF BAD FEED BACK ON SOLID ROLLERS CRAPPING OUT ON STREET( LACK OF LUBE AT IDLE WAS TOLD)
TYIM SYAS ENGINE WOULD HAVE TO COME APRAT AND HAVE MACHINE WORK DONE IN ORDER TO INSTALL A HYD. ROLLER CAM(NEED MORE CLEARANCE IN LIFTER AREA FOR HYD ROLLER LIFTERS)

oiling at idle NOT a problem if you get solid roller lifters that oil the rollers and while you're at it convert to pushrod oiling too. A solid roller will work fine on the street with these parts.

Take care,
Rick

Solid rollers are great when everything is mild....When you want to really wick it up though and still street it, your asking for issues.

He only needs a mild solid roller for the 100 HP he wants. Get the Hemi book by Rich Nedbal.

Not worth the money or the trouble...Barton will even tell you that with all the chinese crap out there right now. So unless you need a roller, its just money....

Sell you my old street cam and lifters.....
