Ok bought a 70 with original air grabber. There are 2 holes in the firewall. The one closest to the middle had the 3 hole gromit in it. But the one closest to the middle looks like someone drilled it and the one on the right side of the firewall looks more factory with a rolled edge. Which is correct and is the other one factory or just drilled. If factory what goes there?

Both locations were used for air grabber hoses. It is mfg. plant dependent. Where was your car built?

This car would have the hole in that location because it used the 69 style ramcharger ductwork not the pop up air grabber.

So is it even conceivable that since it was a way early car and that the pop up airgrabber was new that they drilled both holes. One for the manual by mistake and then one for the pop up in the correct spot? Since in the pictures of the St Louis cars all have the hole not by the voltage regulator and the hole by the voltage reg was for the manual one? I mean why would anyone drill another hole over by the voltage regulator with the correct one already there? The correct one was even drilled into the dimple creating the beveled edge. One more question is the hole for the manual air grabber on the R/t in a dimple or just in the firewall?
