Saw this picture on e-bay on the blue 69 gtx for sale. I wonder how it runs with the vacuum advance hooked up to the same port as the pvc valve?

depends on how the dist? is set. The way its plumbed its timed to run on full vacume advance. Some people do it this way and others do it the factory way.

If you have enough vacuum in D at an idle to keep the vacuum can fully engaged, then the in D idle will be fine. I would guess that allot of people that decide to use manifold vacuum just swap the vacuum hose and then wonder why they can't get the idle to work. Note: For those who want to run manifold vacuum, chose the appropriate distributor can that is rated lower then your in D idle vacuum.

I've never ran manifold but from what I've read on it it intrigued me enough to wanna try sometime. I'll just adj the allen wrench clockwise as far as possible if need be to get it all in at the lowest in hg with the can that is on there & see what develops and I have a vacuum pump with a gauge which should be a big help

Pretty sure the number on the can is the MINIMUM vac required to move the can arm , adjusting the spring will not make it lower , just come in faster ... at minimum ... , or slower , higher vac ???
