I agree that the difference in sector shafts alone wouldn't make the difference. But, with the larger sector and only 2 clocking positions, we can't get the thing to line up. And can't figure out why..... Is there enough adjustment in the centering valve to correct this? That's the only thing we haven't tried....

I was thinking centering valve when I read this the other day but couldn't figure out the name. I think the FSM has instructions. Mike

Well, so far we've still not figured it out.....
Did you check the entire front end out? If the pitman arm is clocked right then something has got to be bent? Check where the ball joint hits the LCA etc..?

Apparently, at some point the steering has been modified or customized. The pitman which came with the large sector steering box was different (longer) than the original pitman. It simply would not fit correctly with the existing steering setup. So, we are are going with the original pitman with a small sector firm feel rebuilt box. Will let you know what happens.

Just a thought.... are you sure it's not a quick ratio arm? I have one from Firm Feel and you can clock it it any position ( no master splines)
I think it could be a C-body arm. Some have splines that are clocked a lot different.

Maybe wrong pitman? I know the C-body pitmans are clocked differently. They are longer too.
