Thats terrible news. Had the opportunity to meet and race with him at LVD. He supplied a BBQ chicken lunch feast for the whole group. Outstanding human being. RIP Phil...

RIP, Phil I had the great fortune to meet and hang out with Phil a few years back at Norwalk during the Classic. He was pitted right by us, and i got to race him in the 10.0 shootout. Lucky for me he was having nitrous problems all weekend. Three of us( me and two buddies) were sitting by ourselves in that angled part of the stands that is about 1/2 track on the pit side. There was a top fueler there making a test pass we had went to sit and watch. My one buddy goes" Hey look over there" I look and lo and behold, there is 9 sec Phil mooning us, standing on the top of a race car trailer to do so. We laughed about that for years, and sometimes still do. He had a great sense of humour, and was enjoyable to be around. Great guy, will be sorely missed.

Wow, NOT how I wanted to start my day. Phil was a great guy who would do anything to help you out. He brought some parts up from VA for me on one of his road trips. When I stopped by his shop to get them, he stopped what he was doing for what seemed over an hour to bs and take me for a ride in his cuda. We saved him a spot at the PINKS event at E-town and hung out with him all weekend. Not only did he help people with thier cars, but he made sure they ate too! You will be missed my friend......

I did not know Phil, but it is obvious he touched everyone he made contact with. Prayers sent.
