B5Superbird OP member Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 119 Ontario, Canada	I found an old carter carb, and i'm wondering if it is dated correctly for my Superbird.. It's a Carter carb. Carb # 4738S Build date 2259 part number 54. Is this properly coded for a 1970 Superbird 440 4bbl? B30 production date. Thanks

RoadRunnerJD master Joined: May 2004 Posts: 5,123 Warrenton, VA	If it's the correct part number, I believe it would be considered an acceptable date code for your car since it precedes the SPD but it would also be considered a real early date.

A date only a week or few days before may be a little tight simply to alow some time for it to be shipped from the vendor to the production line.
