The clutch!!! I know it's a big secret still, but
the 5 or 6 disc small diameter 6 inch clutch is
still where the tune is at. KB racing were the
first ones to have it, not so much a secret any
more, but a tuning nightmare. They don't have to
cheat, they just have to out spend. A $50,000
clutch combo is nothing for KB racing. But this
is old info anyways, right??? !!!

It's also about the will to keep working when others have stopped. They have been scrutenised more than any other team out there. They just have the money, drive, knowledge, set up, and hot hand right now.

Qualify near the top to get lane choice in the first round and race fast to keep it. A lot of these tracks are a couple of hundreds quicker from lane to lane. Line and Anderson rarely get wheel hop like the other teams do so either look at the clutch set-up or some type of traction control. They have several Nascar guys on their team and if anyone knows there way around the rules or how to push the rules its Nascar guys.

I agree with most, that the multi car teams arent always good for the sport, BUT, without them, there may not be enough cars to make a series succesful. Just part of the deal.

As far as Line and Anderson, they are well funded, and extremely sharp individuals who are not afraid to outwork the competition. It isnt by chance, luck or cheating that they are one top. They are the best tuners out there. If you really want to see where they win, look at their incvrementals, and analyze it a little closer. You'll see where they do their damage, and exactly what they have a handle on.

I also agree, they are there for the beating, but you CANNOT be off YOUR game when they stumble, and thats what usually happens. They arent going to give you much, and when they DO, you better be on top of your driving and tuning, and they can be beat. There is no question Jason relaxes on the tree at times, and when he does, YOU cant. They also obviously have a great handle on Pomona in general, and always come out firing.

I'll never insult a team or crew that just out hustles their competition.

Jeggie is a winner and a champion. He wont settle for bridesmaid for long. he knows how to win, and will be good for us Mopar lovers, just give them some time. AJ needs to be on the tree when the opportunity arises. I am sure he knows that as well as anyone. Vincent is a driving machine. He seems to have the power and will do well.

jeggie had line beat with an .005 light but shook the tires in 2nd. like was said before, you have to take advantage when they slip up and thats not often! A.J. is right there in the power dept. always in the top 3-5 in qualifing but seems to miss on the tuneup on sunday. when they get the camaros the other teams should be able to take advantage as it will take a few races to sort out the bugs. i would love to see all 3 mopars in the top 5 at the end of the year.

I agree with Al. You guys are something else. To get back to the OP, flames in the the headers at the shut off are due to raw fuel igniting in the hot headers after the engine's clicked off. It happens with all the prostocks. Cheating my a$$. Taking advantage of the rules? Probably.

I don't think they're cheating, just tons of money. Just ask anyone that runs a truly fast car. Not me btw. .

well, I know they were running 6.30s & 40 at the end of last year. After they had the championship sown up they slowed down. none of the other cars can get within 2 hundredths. there cheating.

Doooooood, put down the bowl. AJ went .46 for the fastest pass ever this winter in testing. Line holds the record at .47.

Lots of teams are right there with the Summit team. Their big advantage is they hold it together on race day when everyone else is stepping on their dinks.

I'm sure AJ intentionally puts the car into shake just so Anderson and Line can win. If you really look at the stats there are lots of passes where Team Summit are vulnerable and whoever is in the other lane just can't seal the deal.

Yep. What he said...

What I SMELL is: hands down the BEST PS TEAM out there, right now. Not just Anderson and Line, but from Downing on down.

I will say hands down the best cheating team. Are you saying that Mike Edwards is just a slacker, or AJ and Roy beginners or These other teams Just can't figure it out on race day. Bull Hockey. The Summit team is cheating some where.

Do you know where The Summit guys were on Wed. Feb 15th all day? While all the other teams were parking..?

They were in Vegas testing.. That's how they win..

Don't get me wrong.. I don't like them, but respect what they do..

Chris..

Remember Eckmam and Ornsdorff when they were hiding nitrous in the oil accumulator an it blew up in the pits in Columbus? Alderman was running nitrous when he was on top and then had the mysterious break in at the shop. Been going on a long time and the NHRA doesn't tech near hard enough to find it.

your on the trail now. yep your right.

I've been told by many NHRA class racers that it ain't cheating until you get caught How did Gregg get so fast back when he had no sponsors I remember when a certain Mopar driver with the initials of D.A. started driving a car that wouldn't fall out of a tree for several years before he came to the team from IHRA no rule racing He ended up winning several NHRA world championships before being suspend for recreational drug use and the team shop being broken into causing unknown problems

well just remember NHRA and Nascar outlawed the HEMI in the early 70' so the Chevys could win. Don Nicholson was the only ford who had a chance, the Summit cars are cheating they just have not been caught or NHRA don't want to them caught. But, enough for me you guuuuys fight it out.

I guess you never heard of a guy named Bob Glidden? He had a small chance every now and then.

What about Gapp and Roush? They made a little bit of noise too.

Some of these guys need to apply for tech jobs with the NHRA . I'm sure they could find whatever magic device that the Summit guys are using.
