Just a guess, but helmets that meet the spec, but just don't provide the protection required in real world accidents I would suspect....And hopefully its not a money thing and we have to have sfi approved padding or some other BS.

Meaning over time, they have reviewed the injuries and found the helmets they require aren't working when impacting a steel tube at the velocities we are running.

Pretty much they are ruining any chances of us with a 9s street car from really wanting to run 9s...But does this mean we no longer need helmets if the bars are padded, or are the helmet specs junk? I would also like to see the data driving the changes along with the harness expiration data.
