I'm runnibg a 498 stroker and have a 22 to 2800 stahl. Car wouldn't idle when placed in park..would jump/stahl.Converter lets the tranny slip a bit at idle now.
A bad distributor would not run well in drive or at highway speed. The timing would most likely jump. Sounds like converter.
