I switched from Flowmaster 40's to MagnaFlow turbo's 4 years ago for the very same reason. The drone at 2800-3000 rpm's was a killer.

I'm very happy with the MagnaFlow's. Pretty quiet at normal throttle or at idle, but they really bellow at full throttle
