You can easily mount the calipers to the back, the issue is the hose routing. You can either use the late FMJ calipers which are designed to be rear hung or you can have the hard line on the frame go to the front of the wheel like the late B body cars.

There are lots of ways to make the stuff work but that doesn't mean that any random combination of parts will work. For some reason people think they can just bolt randomly selected parts onto their cars and it will all magically work. It isn't quite that simple.
