Update on the tranny. The truck is a 78 Dodge 1 ton with the heavy duty running gear. I would assume that the 727 would be pretty stout since it is for a 1 ton and is bolted up to a 400. Good input so far. As per the previous post correct me if I am wrong but it looks like the tranny from a 68 charger would be the same as this tranny except for the actual year it was made and that it is externally balanced. If the truck was a 4x4 then the tranny would not work but if it was 2wd then they should be the same length?
