For a cowl hood to work, the rear of the cowl scoop needs to be close to the windshield. I only have enough room to get my fingers b/t my windshield and the back of the cowl scoop. If it doesn't get close to the windshield, it won't pull any air in.
I switched from a six pack hood to the cowl hood and saw no change in ET or MPH. Both were sealed to the carburetor.
The problem I had with the 6 pack scoop was that above 120 mph the hood tried to lift off the car REAL bad. CHIP
