At this point I would just leave a hole in the hood, and have both the cowl & front facing scoop available, and try which one is better for your performance. The problem with the front facing factory style scoops is, that they create a lot of lift, so you have to attach them better and perhaps even make the parts more rigid = heavier. Problem with the cowl style is, that it may or may not work, and because it's realtively long and wide it blocks the visibility more than a purpose built, low pro style scoop.
