I honestly envy those that have so little to be stressed about in their lives that a piece of paper placed in their car, at a car show, can cause that much grief.

It might be the opposite, maybe they are already stressed to the
MAX and this is just one more irritant. Ever seen FALLING DOWN" with Michael Douglas? Excellent movie and possible example

I might suggest if you do not want flyers in your car, and it bothers you that much, place a placard on your dash and seats stating so.
AND
For the flyer people, start wearing bullet proof vests and riot gear while passing them out LOL
