Main reason it was difficult:
the fuel pump module where the connect snaps on is 3/8, but the plastic line that connects to the quick connect is 5/16.
So OF COURSE a 5/16 quick connect wouldn't fit. How the hell is anyone supposed to guess they used two different sizes on the same fitting.



I had a similar problem on a 1995 Ram when a squirrel gnawed on the fuel line about six inches from the quick connector to the fuel pump module.

I thought this only was a problem 1994-1995, and 1996+ had a different fuel line.

If this was still around in year 2003, that would seem to be deliberate by engineers
