A couple weeks ago, someone from slantsix.org gladly took my old slant and trans out of the Demon.

Within the last two weeks, I started work on the engine bay. I cleaned and repainted with a custom-mixed metallic spray from Jerry's Paints in Sacramento, CA. For the $14/can, it was great. It's a little more glossy than stock, but color-matches perfectly. I painted the k-member and suspension pieces with Rustoleum Rust-Tough semi-flat black paint.

Then I began rewiring the bay. A lot of the wiring was corroded or just looked bad, so I cut and re-soldered a few wires to make it look good. I also, thanks to MowP4rsn's help, I got a new battery tray from E-Body Ed to replace my corroded tray.

Since I am using an electronic speedometer, I decided to rewire my original setup (through the speedometer grommet) to the bulkhead plug. Other than not being able to find the right female terminals, it went alright, and now I don't have wires where they shouldn't be.
