My son just had the same thing happen on his car, but the whole nose of the starter broke off, right back to the mounting. Jammed in the ring gear and he thought the motor had seized up.
Oh goody so now it's a class action thing!!!!!!!!!! Where are the mini starter tar and feather smiles!!
