I chose the edelbrock Victor Jr. heads - 13-1 compression - also used the Barton valve-train 1.6 ratio with push rod oiling. we ended up at 870 HP at 6900 RPM with the stage V intake and two 800 cfm edelbrock carbs- BEST Machine built the engine

Looked at a bunch of different heads at first - but the edelbrocks had the pushrod tube already in them - had the large intake valve and took very little clean-up work to to make them flow around 420 at .700 and most of all the price was reasonable - I have more in the valve-train than the heads but I wanted the best in valve-train and when you look at stage V and others available you come within a couple of hundred of the Barton by the time you price it all out. And the Barton fits under stamped steel valve covers

I see no reason why you could not get close to 800 HP out of a pump gas 572 with eddies and a mild cam
