I wonder if the pan you bought is the Repo 1966 to 1969 Street Hemi oil pan? I use to use them on my 1963 M.W. stocker <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif" alt="" />
that pan is yet to be available in repop.
The 6qt pan is 5 plus the filter ... I would go by the old distck , full is full , a little over won't hurt much .
Either Hughes or Mancini sells both the 1966/1969 and the 1970/71 repop Hemi oil pans
The early street Hemi pan was 5 quart plus one for the oil filter, the 1970/71 Street Hemi and 440 6 pack oil pan is six quarts in the pan and one for the oil filter
That one, 1970/71, is way better for the 1966 to 1971 B and E body cars with BB and Hemi motors in them
