Do you know which year and HP rating of your 426W? If not look at the casting date on the side of the block and the assembly date on the raised pad on the top left front of the block and post that scope Mopar made three different version of the 426W motors, two Super Stock Max wedge motors and a street wedge motor, the casting numbers on the block will help identify which block you have thumbs
As far as the old cam and lifters there is saying that works real well for me, it is "when in doubt throw it out" thumbs
The early 426 street wedge motors had a small camshaft, same cam and lifters in all the non Max wedge motors shruggy My message is the stock valve springs should work okay on a cam that has less than .500 net lift at the retainers thumbs
