Just wire it up with a relay that pulls all the power directly off the alternator. The power to run it never goes through the bulkhead. The relay is wired to supply power with ignition in the run position. Since you only need a small trigger wire to supply power to the relay which turns it's on in the run position there is no extra draw through the cars original wiring. And I also ran a bypass wire so the amp guage won't see the power either. Says dead center and never shows charge or discharge so I installed a voltmeter.


Exactly. All the loads should be wired on the alternator side of the ammeter feed. The ONLY current going thru the alternator should be to or from the battery and the battery only, NOTHING else.
