I've had one of these in my car for about 3 years now.

FYI: The factory contour wiring uses a 60A maxi fuse to power both fans and a 70A relay.

The little resistor pack deal is for the low speed. The low speed has always been more than enough to keep my car cool. You basically turn the power going into that resistor/diode on and you get low. The factory does this by having the computer ground the low relay to turn low on and the high to turn high on. I used the dakota digital controller to mimic this.
