I agree with the point about the carb. My 1406 was way lean for my MILD 360. I cant imagine how lean it would be on a 440. Do yourself a favor, get a calibration kit for the carb, and calibrate it as a 1405 (manual choke version of same carb). Those are setup much richer as a performance carb, instead of economy setup they give the 1406. For example, 2 steps rich in cruise and power mode on the 1406 calibration chart was still 1 step lean on the 1405 chart. So use the 1405 chart to calibrate your 1406 if you stay with it. I did a bunch of reading online for tuning that carb and then I dove right in. It let me learn a lot about carb tuning.

But if you're looking for an upgrade to make that 440 run, I think you're going to need a bigger/better carb for your combo.
