I don't think it is from the cam or comp ratio but rather the fast burn swirl port heads.

I have a cheap reman autozone points dist in it so a good recurv would be a good help.

so when I have it up around 10* -/+ the dist pulls well past 40*-50* of advance.

so it is more a tuning problem IMHO, plus I have a well used JY engine with some bolt on parts

the 600 eddy carb is pig rich, the dist needs recurved, I need to run better gas ect...ect...ect..

BUT! for the 800 bux I have in it, this 120,000 mile,never had the heads off JY 318 sure is a brute for daily street duty.
