Actually, that was the best sdvice you'll get but the term "factory converter" is little ambiguous...the stock factory 340 converter is an 11" high-stall and should stall at 2250-2450 behind a stock 340.




Yeah, the 600-700 RPM increase in stall will probably get about 50-75ft/lbs deeper into the powerband, which should help "launch". I don't agree with swapping in deep gears and killing overall driveability for an occasional better launch. 3.55's would be nice, but I don't think worth the cost unless I was buying a gear anyways. And all this is baised on a 28" tire - taller tires would require more gear.
