A factory hi - stall would probably get ya in that range. I think around here they can be picked up from the rebuilders for about $100. I had a '78 318 Trailduster that I put an 85 cop car top end (heads, intake, carb) on and used the factory hi-stall and it was at about 2100-2200 IIRC. Still great street manners and it picked up from 68 to 80 MPH (1/4 mi) for the whole swap.
