I know several people who ran an 8" lockup back in NMCA Hot Street. That would be late 90's as the links told.

The lockup deals ATI and Hughes are doing are made for huge horsepower. Those are large diameter low stall converters to begin with.

Like the links said people were doing this then NHRA outlawed them due to MPH records and ET record. Seems people were gaining .3 seconds with them.
