As far as having power to the coil with the key on you have to hve the "start" and "run" circuits tied together and powering the MSD "ignition on" (little red wire) as well as having power to the large red wire that is used as the main power feed. Don't get too mad, once you figure it out you will be good for life because you will have a new set of skills to rely on. Got to get over the summit first and I think you are there man. Good advice.
