What he said , if the pan is chrome sand the chrome off the gasket rail or you'll never get it to stop.

I chased a trans leak on my truck for 2 years , turns out it was the fittings for the cooler line threads into the trans case .

Running your hand on the case is not going to find the leak , clean the trans, run it and then put baby powder on it, you'll find the leak.
