74 Dart Sport, I can't seem to get the horn to work and I have looked through the FSM and can't find any solutions in there. When I push the horn button I hear a relay of some kind clicking but no beep. I have checked at the wire with a test light and my kid pushing the button and I have no power there. Any suggestions on where to look would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Take a hot wire off your battery, and touch it to horn ,and see if your horn honks. If not bad horn, Check fuse and see if you have current to horn relay, all you do at steering wheel is ground when u push horn ring.

horn button drives negative and closes the relay circuit to send positive.

If you heard the click it looks relay is working.

wire what feeds horns is green traced red, search for that wire on back of bulkhead and check for power there when pressing horn

OK, I'll do that here shortly. I also have a line toner I'm going to hook up at the horn and tone it back to see if I have a break in the wire somewhere.

Stick your test light in wire that plugs on horn and have someone push horn, u should have current to wire that plugs on horn,,, Also make sure your horn has a good ground>>>>>

Replaced the horn with a working unit, still no beep beep. Test light hooked to wire, push button, nothing.

well, check directly at relay. Dunno remmeber if 74s are attached to glovebox liner provision ( I know 75/76s are ) or still at driver side kick panel area close to dash frame

same color wire, green traced red. The other wires must be black coming from horn switch ( ground switch ) and violet, full batt source.

The relay is clipped to the fuse box on the driver side kick panel. I'll check the green with red coming off the relay.

If there is a break in the wire inside the relay, it will click but will not supply power to the horn. Clicking shows that ground circuit to the horn button is working but I beleive the relay itself has an open inside.
Yes your light should light when the button is pushed but since the relay is not feeding the wire, it is not lighting.
