The best are generally made by Robbins but Robbins only sells to professional installers.. Most restoration suppliers will sell you a top made by Kee..

And no the trim is not reproduced... Find used parts & restore it..

The good news is it's stainless, so a salvage yard could be a good source.

I have my trim, its just that some decided to put snaps on them and drilled 45 holes in the trim!!!

I have someone who can weld up stainless so that will probably be the route I will go.

Yeah the last time I was at a salvage yard I kept tripping over those Cuda convertibles... I wish they'd do something about that....

Ebay & the classifieds here on Moparts! Good Luck!!

Just saw your post.. Yup weld it up....

Just make sure you have the correct material.

I just went through an exercise on my 67 and Robbin’s and Kee’s catalogs were both incorrect for that year.

If you are having an installer put the top on I would ask his opinion and let him buy the top. I had a top put on my 70 Challenger and the installer used an Electron top and window. At the time he used tops from 3 different manufacturers and said Electron is usally the best for 60's and 70's US cars.

Another couple hints.

What I've noticed with most of the E-body tops is that there is always some rumpling above the back window. I explained this to the installer and when he installed the top he pulled taught in a way to try and counteract this.

Also whenever I fold the top I zip out the rear curtain. By doing this you are not putting stress on the flap of material above the window.

I used new cables, rebuilt the top pump with new seals, hoses and installed new cylinders. I am told all these things help to keep tension on the top. You might be able to get away with the old hoses but I didn't want to rely on brittle 40 year old hoses.

If your top is still installed on the car I would recommend leaving it on so that the installer can see how it was put on. I know it may end up costing you more in labor but I feel the end result is worth it.

Also make sure that you're windows fit properly to the top frame before the new top is put on.

I also made a copy from the factory service manual and gave the installer a copy. I did this becsue most of the tops he had been installing lately were on GM muslce cars and late models.

Wow,

Great Advice from everyone. Thank You

Top is still on the car.
Replaced the lines and lift cylinders a couple of years ago.

The trim is going to be welded by a Airline mechanic who can weld
about anything. I've seen his racecar and he welded everything on it.
I'll have the chore of buffing it out.

Just asking, do you think you will be able to weld the holes up and be able to buff it out without seeing where it was welded? I would try one hole first and see how it comes out.
