I am going to keep my challenger all steel. Does anyone weld in tubs and or the sheet metal or is all of it riveted? This car will be driven on the street. Any pics would be appreciated.

Being welded in makes it substantially stronger, whether stitched or spot welded (stitch preferred), although if the welds aren't "pretty" and you don't intend to use carpet, it could be a little unsightly. We usually weld sheetmetal and rivet aluminum. One thing to consider, if it will be street driven, is over the years the constant flexing (however slight that may be) from driving over uneven surfaces, cornering, ect., will eventually shear some of the rivets off. You can rivet a few panels you think you may want to remove/replace in the future. If you weld the tubs in, I would caulk the seam between the 1/4 and tub.

Car is back halved right now. I am going to carpet over everything (besides trunk). I was thinking stitch welding and using seam sealer like you said JCRVETTE.

Thanks, I carpeted the inside and painted everything else. To make the panel under my fuel cell removable i drilled and tapped the holes , then used allen head bolts.

Nice pics! You guys have any downside to welding? What seam sealer did you guys use?

I used sikaflex ( black ) great stuff. I tried a tube of that 3m product and had to wait 4-5 days for it to dry up and my shop is heated.
