I am making some changes to my fuel system. I am thinking of moving my fuel pump ( Aeromotive A1000) to inside the trunk and upgrading from a plastic to an aluminum cell 15 to 20 gal.

I need some ideas for mounting bracket.

Thanks
Kevin

Al, on my alum. cell it clearly stated that those tabs were for locating only and to use straps...........did yours say that?

That is what I was thinking of doing.

Did you have any problems not using straps?

Thank you for your replies everyone

My cell is like Al's, but mine is bolted flat to the floor/ cross members with the sump and pump/filter below the floor. I purchased mine new and didn't see any info about not using those tabs for mounting. Never had a tech problem either. I think there suprised to see such a nice looking set up in a pos car. If the cell was mounted flat or on pedestals without strain on the tabs there would not be a problem. I've had mine going on 6 years and my car gets used 100's of runs per year.

it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

I never had an issue with mine. We actually welded those tabd to the cell. Also the photo does not show the structure below the cell. It has a complete "frame" under it that it mounts to. It is still in the Valiant.

Mine is like Al's except my spacer blocks are the same size as the tabs. The blocks make the tank sit high enough so the sump area doesn't hit the stock floorpan. Been that way for years in street/strip use and no additional framework under it. 10.90 car.
