I have an Edelbrock Performer (NOT RPM) on my 440. Where have you guys mounted the coil? There doesn't seem to be a spot for the stock coil bracket. Was thinking about using a 6 pack coil bracket.
Any suggestions?

Most of the 6 pack style coil brackets I've sold were for this very reason.
mostly non stock applications like this

Have you considered mounting your coil away from the motor since you don't have a specific bracket for that intake?
This method would keep your coil running cooler and you could use the 6-pac bracket and maybe fab up a second bracket and hang it elsewhere using a longer coil wire.

thats them to the pass side of front intake runner

my stock intakes is same place

and the weiand action plus I have is same place

on my sb I just used some cut up thottle brackets with a sigle hole coil strap welded on,bolts on 1 intake bolt sticks up-curves back and coil is held horozontal inbetween the VC and carb

use a one hole coil strap in the 1 front hole and it should fit fine

always can mount on the firewall where the heater fan used to be..maybe the fender well

The problem with the mounts is that they are designed for an AFB/AVS style carb. Running a dual feed Holley you're not getting the coil on there. I decided to use one of the holes (the one furthest from the carb) and use a Ford Windsor coil bracket, which only has one mounting hole and the bracket wraps around the coil.

Now I need to pin those needles, got to feel that heat

I have the CH28 (Dual Quad) I have the MSD coil. I was forced to mount it upright because of a leakage issue with the Blaster II coils. I got a Mr Gasket special with the chrome brackets and the sleeve. Both ears are mounted on the valley pan hold down plates...In direct line with the fan blowing on it....add insult to injury, its even stuffed under a Six-Pack type air cleaner...It might get a little hot in its current position....I didn't have an alternative. I dont want a coil wire running to the fender or the firewall.

I know, but the bosses are 2 different heights. I was also thinking of using the Ford single bolt mount on the front boss.

Neither do I. I will make it work. I also have the MSD Leaker2 coil. I gotta get rid of that thing. Is there a good, leak free alternative that mounts in a stock type bracket?

Scratch, you are too much. I did not forget you. I am putting a small care package together for you. Just waiting for a couple items from work.

Hughes Engines has several different coil mounts that will work.

An oil filled coil will be happiest/live longest mounted on the firewall or fender. Heat is their enemy. Would a later model OE Magnum series engine type (non oil filled coil) work on a big block?

I will be gettin one of the big old skool accel coils for the mallory duel points dist for mine that will go on the inner fender of my truck to clean the looks of the engine up some

coil does not care how long the coil wire is it will go with the other real long plug wires it has

you can see the small accel coil on it in the sig pic and with the new alum intake

MSD has an epoxy filled blaster coil that looks just like the oil filled ones.
