Am worried about the heat killing the alternator.

If I wrap the pipes, wategate pipes and exaust pipe that will run next to the alternator will that be enough?

Cheers gg408

You've got that downpipe going the wrong way. It needs to go straight up through the hood like a locomotive.

You can see my 130 amp alternator tucked under the header on the far side of the engine. It ran for several thousand miles with no issues. I had a header leak that was burning the wires off the alternator but it kept charging.

I have a turbo blanket and can lay your hand on it. The down pipe is wrapped in exh wrap and can touch it. Do both those and the alt will be fine.

Here is a pic where you can see the blanket and wrap on the downpipe.

Thanks for that guys.

Suppose I can try it and see what happens.

Any particular wrap to use or are they all the same?

Cheers gg408

The exaust manioflds are fabbed by me out of straight steam pipe & bends and so is the merge pipe.
The turbo is a BWS475 modified and fitted with an 80mm comp wheel .
The alternator brakets are again fabbed up by me. All I did was mount the alternator of the bottom timing cover hole with a long bolt and some spacers and then just made a braket that runs from that bolt to a bolt on the water pump.

Cheers gg408.
